Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our drone operations team based in Yakima. This is a seasonal, hourly role offering 20–40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
A minimum of 20 hours per week is guaranteed; however, candidates must be flexible and willing to work extended hours—including shifts up to 12 hours and occasional work exceeding 40 hours per week—based on seasonal demands. Many drone operations take place at night, so availability for evening and overnight work is required.
This is a team-oriented role that involves working closely with others in the field. A valid driver’s license is required, as travel to various job sites is part of the position. A Motor Vehicle Report and pre-employment drug screening are required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with beneficial insect release operations in orchards, vineyards, hops, and other agricultural settings, including remote locations
Support nighttime insect release activities as needed
Provide drone pilot support, including:
Charging and managing batteries
Loading insects or other materials
Acting as a visual observer/spotter
Cleaning and maintaining equipment
Logging flight data
Running operational errands
Participate in additional drone operations such as aerial mapping, crop counts, video capture, and product applications
Assist with other fieldwork or general labor tasks as needed based on workload
Qualifications & Skills
Reliable, responsible, and able to follow direction
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when needed
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug screening
Agricultural background preferred, but not required
Bilingual skills are a plus
FAA Part 107 license required for any piloting responsibilities
Prior drone flight experience preferred for piloting duties
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying terrain and weather conditions
Ability to remain alert and adaptable during long shifts, including daytime and nighttime work
Position Duration
This seasonal position runs from June through August. An end-of-season bonus may be available based on attendance and quality of work.
