WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Geomatics Technician, you will support the delivery of geospatial data and mapping products across a range of projects. You will collect, manage, analyze, and visualize spatial data, prepare maps and figures, and maintain organized, high-quality datasets. You will collaborate with project teams to understand requirements, contribute to workflows and data management practices, and ensure all outputs meet quality and organizational standards.

JOB DUTIES

• Support team members in the use of GIS and data technologies for spatial and non-spatial analysis
• Perform spatial analysis, modelling, and application development using industry-standard tools
• Assist in the design, management, and documentation of data models, databases, and data processes
• Provide GIS technical support, including troubleshooting and solution development
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of spatial data and analysis outputs
• Produce high-quality maps, graphics, and visuals for technical reports and studies
• Manage tasks across multiple projects with varying timelines and priorities
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with team members to meet deliverables
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data appropriately
• Conduct field surveys (e.g., topographic, volume, stakeout) and process field data
• Import and manage data to generate features and surfaces
• Adhere to health and safety requirements, including supervising others when applicable
• Perform field work in varying conditions; travel and overtime may be required

QUALIFICATIONS
• Relevant College Diploma or University Degree; related experience
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience working with ESRI products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop 10.x, ArcGIS Online/Portal/WebApps, and standard GIS/CAD formats.
• Working knowledge of QGIS, Mergin and AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered an asset
• Surveying experience with total stations and RTKs in various field scenarios is considered an asset
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook) is essential
• Outstanding organisational and communications abilities
• Superior technical skills and attention to detail
• Good problem solver with ability to identify alternative solutions
• The ability to work with multiple people and prioritize tasks is a must
• The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Desire to succeed in a dynamic, progressive organization
• Works well independently as well as a part of a team
• Ability to communicate well with others and engage in technical conversations.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills with fluency (reading, writing and oral) in English.
• Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
